Candice Williams The Detroit News Comments A 54-year-old Brighton orthodontist has pleaded guilty to tax evasion, failing to pay $198,000 in taxes, U.S. Attorney Barbara L. McQuade said Tuesday. Samuel Daniels, of Brighton, worked as an orthodontist from 2006 to 2009 and during that time period he misrepresented personal expenditures as business expenses for Samuel Daniels, DDS, MS PLLC, prosecutorssaid. According to the plea agreement, Daniels used the business receipts to pay his home mortgage, real estate taxes and home equity line of credit.
