Carleton man enters plea in father's slaying

Associated Press Comments Monroe — A southeastern Michigan man faces 10 to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the strangulation death of his father. The Monroe Evening News reports 27-year-old David Killian III is scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 8 after entering the plea in the Feb. 3 death. In exchange for the plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss a charge of open murder. Killian was arrested after David Killian II’s body was found in the basement of his son’s home in Carleton, about 30 miles southwest of Detroit.
