Judge: Part or all of Macomb Co. mansion must come down

Associated Press Comments Washington Township — A Macomb County judge says a couple have to tear down all or part of their mansion because they built it too close to a neighbor’s property. Circuit Judge Mark Switalski said Monday he doesn’t have discretion to approve a deal to avoid full or partial demolition. The Michigan Court of Appeals previously ruled that at least part of the 9,000-square-foot home had to come down. Simon and Saca Palushaj have been trying for nine years to save the Washington Township house. They asked Switalski for more time to comply with a July 1 deadline, or potentially reach a settlement.
