Fowler/Special to The Detroit News) The Republican government of Michigan cut business taxes, giving away nearly $2 billion in tax revenue. At the same time they cut the taxes local governments could charge business a double whammy that has reaped millions in profit. The GOP also cut schools per-pupil allowances at a time when Michigan is losing population. Michigan has gone from a middle class income that ranked 11th in the nation to 36th and working to survive.
